Personal Continuity Index (PCI)
A simple tool inspired by Information Continuity Theory to estimate how much of you is likely to persist (a snapshot).
PCI doesn’t measure happiness or morality. It estimates how well your life’s pattern – your knowledge, values,
relationships, and contributions – is set up to continue into the future instead of being erased by entropy,
chaos, or neglect.
How to use this:
1. Enter rough estimates for each field (they don’t need to be perfect).
2. Click Calculate PCI or try the example values.
3. Read your continuity regime and suggestions for raising your PCI.

PCI = ( R × fI ) / ( λ × dI )
R = Reproduction / successors •
fI = Fidelity of what you pass on •
dI = Deletion risk •
λ = Volatility of your environment
Count things that can carry you forward: children, mentees, students, enduring projects or institutions.
Typical range 0–5+.
How clearly your values and knowledge are preserved.
0.3 = scattered, 0.7 = fairly consistent, 0.9 = well documented & lived.
0.3 = scattered, 0.7 = fairly consistent, 0.9 = well documented & lived.
Risk of catastrophic loss (health, burnout, isolation, ruin).
0.2 = low, 0.6+ = high danger.
0.2 = low, 0.6+ = high danger.
How turbulent your environment is.
0.2 = stable life, 0.5 = lots of change, 0.8+ = very chaotic.

This is a conceptual tool inspired by Information Continuity Theory, not a medical or clinical instrument.
